Artist Interviews Magic Milk

Chicago's favorite party band put their tallboys down for a few minutes to hang out with CHIRP's Cher Vincent. Magic Milk is Kenny Alden, Nick Spiese, and Maggie Laleman, but any Chicagoan who likes to get down to bouncy garage rock can be an honorary member of the band. They explained their DIY approach to music, guerilla recording sessions, and having fun with Goons.

CHIRP DJ Jim Klososky met with Adam Pierce before Mice Parade played a stripped down set at Schubas in support of Candela, Pierce's 10th album in fifteen years and his latest for Fat Cat. They chatted casually about making challenging music versus pop music, covering the Lemonheads, and being shocked by goat heads in music videos.

Wild Belle's debut album, Isles, releases on Columbia Records on March 12th.

Artist Interviews Palma Violets

Palma Violets is a four-piece indie/garage rock group out of Lambeth, London. Before their Chicago debut on their first North American tour, Palma Violets sat down with Katie Owens for their first Chicago interview. Conversation went from Chipotle mayonnaise, to the quest for true love, and getting “friend-zoned.”  Palma Violets full-length album, 180, released on Rough Trade Records on February 25. Palma Violets will be back at Schubas Tavern on May 1.
