Emily Cross is known throughout Chicago's lo-fi art scene as Cross Record. CHIRP's Blake Burkhart talked with Cross about her growth as a singer and a musician, how a pre-teen diary turns into a career project, and the value of leaving Chicago for a while. Cross's haunting acoustic works are the latest to be captured by Coach House Sounds, which you can hear exclusively on CHIRP in early 2013.
