Today, Chicago Theatre Off Book is reviewing exciting offerings from local theatre companies: “Sunday in the Park with George” by Chicago Shakespeare Theater, “Geography of a Horse Dreamer” by Mary Arrchie Theatre, and “HooDoo Love” by Collective Theatre. Our special guests are Brett Neveu, Playwright of “The Opponent” and A Red Orchid Theatre company member, and writer Irvine Welsh and Actor Shane Kenyon on “Trainspotting USA.” And of course, we have a new Got A Minute? segment from a local playwright.

Chicago’s California Wives’ released their first full-length record on Vagrant Records in early September, 2012. Art History is a dream pop celebration for the new-wave band, marking years of hard work and support from the local scene.
Blake Burkhart caught up with the band during a busy Lollapalooza weekend, reminiscing with the guys about the good ride they’ve had so far, and hope to continue now that they’ve officially dropped their long-awaited debut.
