Chicago band This House Is Creaking will perform at CHIRP Night at the Whistler on Sunday November 24th. We recently caught up with the band to ask a few questions.
So, What’s going on? Tell us about your current releases and/or upcoming shows (such as CHIRP Night at the Whistler!).
We are playing a lot of Black Ops 6 and watching Jersey Shore. We're putting a lot of time into translating these songs live and our next show is for Chirp Night at Whistler on November 24. Shooting for our next release to be early 2025.
How do you go about turning your thoughts, ideas, and feelings into sounds?
We don't force it. We make stuff that we want to hear.
When did you first decide to make music a major part of your life?
When we heard Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.
If your music was a kind of beer, ice cream, or coffee (take your pick), what would it taste like?
It would be an Old Style Espresso Peanut Butter Chocolate Float. A well balanced breakfast.
Do you have any particular or unexpected influences? Are any other artists or bands catching your attention at the moment?
Unexpected Influences: Kelly Clarkson, Kero Kero Bonito, Black Eyed Peas // Artists Catching Our Attention: Kassie Krut, Fantasy of a Broken Heart, Tuff Sudz, EPROM, Addison Rae
What’s the first song you remember first making an impact on you?
"Life is a Highway" (Rascal Flatts) and "Porcelain" (Moby).
What’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever done in a basement?
Total cartoon.
If you were someone’s life coach, what are the top 2 life lessons you’d teach them?
Commit and Commit.
Are there any stories or anecdotes you want to share but haven’t been asked the right question to do so? Or do you have anything you’d like to declare to the world? Feel free to share…
We just finished a 7000 piece Transformers: Dark of The Moon puzzle with blindfolds on and our hands tied behind our back.
