In 2011, some enterprising Chicagoans had an idea: every week they would collect tracks from exciting, innovative local artists and bands and send them out to the public as a way of spreading the word. Two years later, Chicago Mixtape is still going strong as more and more music fans hook in to the sweet sounds coming to their Inboxes each week.

This Saturday, February 23rd, Chicago Mixtape will celebrate its 2-Year Anniversary with a fundraising event at The Empty Bottle. Rapper Psalm One, soul revivalists The Congregation, and indie rockers Santah and Animal City will be onstage providing the jams, with a DJ set from White Mystery.
