2017 has been an incredible year for music and I listened to over double the amount of new music than I usually do thanks to reviewing 46 albums for CHIRP this year. I listened to around 100 full albums total and here are my top 10!

A combination of upbeat dashed with a strong sense of skepticism. At times flippant (most times flippant). A little feminist, a little angry, a lot of love dancing with defiance. Some sweetness. That probably best fits my selections. 2017 was a hard year, for many people, but the music is getting louder, and so are our voices.

Before I begin, can we all just agree that Kendrick Lamar made the best record of 2017? Yes? Good. What follows is a top ten list of all non-Kendrick records of the year. While all albums on this list are great, DAMN. was a masterpiece.
