I am just a regular guy who loves music of all types and I love turning people onto new music.  I appreciate all types of music but my personal tastes definitely lean toward punk, pop-punk, post-hardcore, and indie folk.  Some of my favorite artists at the moment include: Speedy Ortiz, At The Drive In, Cursive, The Good Life, Sharon Van Etten, Courtney Barnett, Pinegrove, Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, Sleater-Kinney, PUP, and Beach Slang.  I love going to shows in the city, some of my favorite venues include Lincoln Hall, Subterreanean, Empty Bottle, Metro, and Concord Music Hall.  I am interested in volunteering for CHIRP because I love discovering new music and love turning people onto new music and I hope to do both of these through work in the programming department or as a DJ.  Through volunteering with CHIRP, I also hope to become more connected with Chicago's local music community and work with like-minded people who share my intense passion for independent and local music!
