I am a writer and person who rides the CTA and watches movies. I gravitate toward indie and twee music but love surprises and diversity. Old stuff, new stuff. It is all invaluable. I grew up in Iowa and studied creative writing at University of Iowa. I briefly moved to Minnesota before jumping into the unknown in Chicago. Since then I have landed on my feet and have grown some roots here and have no intention of leaving any time soon. I like cover versions of songs, really good movie soundtracks, and trying to guess a song playing in an adjacent room.

In addition to DJing, tabling, and writing reviews for the music department, I also help produce the CHIRP reading series The First Time, a quarterly storytelling event featuring true stories and live covers.
