I host The Friday Spin from noon to 3 pm CST every Friday afternoon. My show is an eclectic mix of new and old indie, world, alternative, punk, rock, jazz, prog, ambient, blues, soul, artist interviews, and anything else that tickles my fancy. If you enjoy Chicago blues, listen to the "Pre-Happy Hour Blues" at 1:55 pm, plus "Cover 3" at 2:25 pm, featuring one obscure original and three cool covers of songs you may or may not recognize. My show also features concert news, Rock & Roll birthdays, and plenty of music trivia. 	2:33pm	Robert Palmer	You Are In My System	Pride (Island)
	Track Notes: David Frank and Mic Murphy of the System, an American new wave band, wrote and recorded the first version of this song, but Robert Palmer came closest to having a hit. Palmer heard the System's original 12" promo copy at famous Paris private night club l'Elysées Matignon played by top DJ Bernie Bernthaler. He quickly flew back to cut it as an extra track, and it was recorded within 24 hours. He had even persuaded co-songwriter David Frank of The System to play on it himself. 	Track Notes: The band, which is often just called Sputnik, was formed by Tony James, ex-bassist of the defunct Generation X, and Neal X (Whitmore), who recruited singer Martin Degville. This song was a minor hit, but considered a major disappointment by the record label. Rocket 808 just recorded a killer cover of it.
