Lina Mas Fina Tuesdays, 6AM
Born in Detroit, bred in surrounding wetlands and vacant industrial wastelands LinaMasFina (aka Carolina Wheat) revels in rhythm, bass and soul. However, she likes all sounds. When she’s not searching for Electronic Voice Phenomenon in haunted hotels around the country, she is eavesdropping surrounding conversations. Musically, from Motown to the beginning of live techno music, Lina’s pleasured by the tunes that bring folks together. Whether with a slow dance or bump and grind: groove, electronic, rock, funk, bass, soul, afro-pop, hip-hop and all their combinations. Upbeat, intuitive and experimental with her play choices she is currently proud to be DJing at CHIRP. Off the clock, she DJs around town promoting folks to get dirty on the dance floor to foul mouthed ghetto-tech. With a deep love of bass heavy, earth shaking beats, vibration residuals still ring in her ears from two decades of standing in front of subwoofers. She’s more mature now having volunteered for years at WCBN (Uof M in Ann Arbor) and producing a show called F D FCC on The School of the Art Institute’s Internet station. SAIC is where she works currently, making and breaking aspiring visual artists’ dreams.
