The Chicago Independent Radio Project, a non-profit, registered 501(C)(3) organization (“CHIRP”), takes the confidentiality and protection of the information we collect seriously. As such, CHIRP has created this privacy policy (the “Policy”) to provide you with information about our privacy practices so that you will understand when and how we collect information about you as you interact with the CHIRP website, located at http://www.chirpradio.org (the “Site”), and how that information is used, disclosed and protected. By accessing our Site and submitting information to us, you consent to the privacy practices described in this Policy and the Terms of Service located at http://v2.chirpradio.dev/terms-of-service, as modified from time to time by us. We reserve the right to modify any portion of the Policy at any time, and without notice to you. Information CHIRP Collects
When you access the Site, CHIRP may collect both personally identifiable information such as your name, e-mail address, customer support inquiries, or non-personally identifiable information about your activities while interacting with Site, as detailed below.
Information You Give Us

Registration Information. Portions of the Site may require you to register and log in and provide personal information before you can access the area of the Site or post information on the Site. In such cases, we collect the registration information you give us such as name and e-mail address.

Donation Information. When you make a donation to CHIRP, we may collect various kinds of information about you, including your name, e-mail address, home or business addresses, home and business phone numbers, or demographic information. CHIRP uses third party payment processors to complete online or electronic donation transactions. CHIRP does not collect, process or store payment information such as credit card numbers, expiration dates, banking information or similar kinds of transactional information. The third party payment processor will provide CHIRP with information about you relevant to your donation, such as your name, email address, address, telephone number, amount of donation and similar types of information. CHIRP has no control over such third party payment processors and is not responsible for their privacy practices. Please consult the privacy policies of the applicable third party payment processor prior to completing any transaction.

Purchase Information. CHIRP may offer merchandise or products for sale on the Site. When you choose to make purchases from the Site, we use a third party payment processor to conduct the transaction. CHIRP does not collect, process, or store payment information such as credit card numbers, expiration dates, banking information or similar types of transactional information. The third party payment processor will provide us with purchasing information such as products ordered, time and date of purchase, shipping address, and other information we need in order to process your order and provide you with the merchandise or product you purchased. CHIRP has no control over the third party payment processors and is not responsible for their privacy practices. Public Forums. The Site may allow you to participate in or submit content to online chat rooms, discussion boards, forums, blogs and other interactive features that permit individuals to interact with one another or to provide content on the Site. Any comment, message or other content you submit may be tied to your username and/or e-mail address. Additionally, any information you post in such forums is public information and may be viewed by anyone, although your email address will not be displayed to other forum users. We cannot control what uses third parties may make of personal information you share in such forums.

If you contact us with questions or issues regarding your use of the Site, we will collect information about you in order to provide necessary support to you, which may include your name, email address and information about your browser or computer. If you choose to provide this information to CHIRP, we will use this information only for customer support purposes.
Automatically Collected Information
We automatically receive certain types of information whenever you interact with the Site. For example, when you visit the Site, we automatically collect your IP address, exit and entry information, browsing behavior, the type of browser you use, podcasts accessed, pages viewed, impressions, and similar types of information. This information may be automatically collected through the use of “cookies” or “clickstream” which are discussed in more detail below. This information does not include personally identifiable information nor is it linked to personally identifiable information unless you log into your registration account. In connection with your use of the Site through a mobile device, we may also gather information from the device including its unique identification number and your geographic location.
We also use Cookies and navigational data like Uniform Resource Locators (URL) to gather information regarding the date and time of your visit and the information you searched for and viewed, or on which of the advertisements displayed on the CHIRP site you clicked. This type of information is collected to make the CHIRP site and tools more useful to you and to tailor the CHIRP experience to meet your special interests and needs.
Information about Children
The Site does not target children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly, directly or passively, collect information from children under the age of 13. If we create offers and products that make it appropriate to collect information from children under the age of 13, we will notify you of the change in this Policy. We also will ask a parent to confirm his/her consent in advance of any collection, use or disclosure of that information.
Use of "Cookies"
Cookies are small text files placed on your hard drive by a website when you visit that website. Use of Personal Information
In general, we use personal information internally to serve you and to enhance and extend our relationship with our users. We use personal information for donation purposes, to complete transactions you have requested, to anticipate and resolve problems with our Site, to respond to support inquiries, to create and inform you of upcoming events and CHIRP related news, and to inform you of new products or services. Please review our third party processor’s privacy policy to determine how your personal information is processed and used by such parties.
Use of Non-Identifiable Information
We may use information about you for our own internal statistical, design or operational purposes, such as estimating our audience size, measuring aggregate traffic patterns, and understanding demographic, customer interest, purchasing, and other trends among our users. We may outsource these tasks to third parties, provided the use and disclosure of your personal information by these third parties is restricted to performance of these tasks.
Disclosure and Use of Information.
We disclose personal information when we have your consent to do so, as necessary to complete a transaction you have requested, when required by law, or when permitted to protect our rights or property. The following section describes these disclosure circumstances more fully. CHIRP does not share, sell, or trade donor information with any other entities.

CHIRP is not responsible for the content or information collection practices of third party websites. For example, if you take advantage of services or products offered on a third party website, the information you submit will be subject to the third party’s privacy policy. The privacy policies of third-party website will differ from this Policy. Therefore, we encourage you to review and understand their privacy policies before providing them with information.
Network and Information Security
CHIRP has in place what we believe to be appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. While we have taken efforts to guard your personal information, we cannot guarantee that your information is secure and will not be disclosed or accessed by accidental circumstances or by the unauthorized acts of others.
Member List Opt-Out
CHIRP does not share, trade or sell member lists with third parties.
Corrections to Personal Information; Opting Out
Please contact us at chirp@chirpradio.org to (a) correct or update any personal information in the CHIRP database that you state is erroneous, (b) opt-out of future communications from CHIRP, or (c) request CHIRP to make reasonable efforts to remove your personal information from our database. However, it may be impossible to delete personal information entirely because of backups and records of deletions.
