I became interested in rock music during the British invasion but got passionate about it when I was in high school and discovered artists like MC5, King Crimson, Tommy Bolin and Golden Earring. I started hosting shows at WHCM (Harper College) and later worked as DJ/music director at WKDI (Northern Illinois University/DeKalb), where I had the chance to witness punk and New Wave first-hand. I worked professionally at two radio stations and interned at A&M Records, promoting acts like the Police, Joe Jackson, Sad Cafe and the Tubes. I worked most of my professional career in public relations, including founding, running and selling my own PR firm, Tech Image. After retiring a few years ago, I decided to earn my MBA from Northern Illinois University and am a full-time digital marketing instructor at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
I discovered CHIRP Radio at a Trail of Dead concert and the Bottom Lounge five years ago and have been a regular listener ever since. I enjoy reviewing new music for CHIRP and started DJing in March 2016. You can listen to my regular shift on Wednesdays from 6 am to 9 am. You'll hear artists that aren't played anywhere but on CHIRP Radio -- guaranteed -- and I love to play your requests.
