On Wednesday, June 5th, CHIRP welcomes BOECKNER & Spencer Krug to the Empty Bottle! Both members of Wolf Parade are touring with their solo projects separately, and this Chicago show is the only point at which their two tours converge.

Throughout his work with Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs, Divine Fits, Operators, Atlas Strategic, and more, Daniel Boeckner recognizes that few feelings are more gratifying—more memorable, more generative, more abundant—than hope. But it takes getting the hell out of your own way.

A culmination of that deep library of musical reference, the iconic Canadian indie rocker is set to release his first album under his own name: Boeckner! “

A prolific creator of dramatic, imaginative indie rock, Canadian singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Spencer Krug is best known as a member of Wolf Parade. However, under a cavalcade of guises -- such as Sunset Rubdown and Moonface -- Krug has remained an original voice across two decades, delivering a commitment to melody and production texture in a characteristically off-kilter fashion.

On the release of the final Moonface album -- 2018's This One’s for the Dancer & This One’s for the Dancer’s Bouquet -- Krug announced that his future solo endeavors would be issued under his own name. 2021's Fading Graffiti -- a record awash with pedal steel -- showed Krug to be true to his promise.
