As a kid, Scott went to bed with a transistor radio smooshed under a pillow. It was probably tuned to WLS AM 89 where he remembers listening to DJ Jeff Davis count down the top 89 songs of 1979 on New Year's Eve (#1 was "My Sharona" by The Knack), and first feeling the bittersweet passage of time as an 8-year-old.
During his sneaky radio listening, Scott also heard the first song that scared him: Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2". The choir of children was creepy AF and at just 8, it was a powerful experience.
This is to say that radio and music have been there from the very beginning. At CHIRP, Scott’s found the perfect place to keep discovering new and wonderful music and share it with everyone. Great music can evoke a wide range of emotions that include feeling bittersweet or creeped-out, and Scott likes all the feels.
Scott’s show is there for all your nighttime emotional needs.
Tune in on Wednesday nights from 10p-12a, and he’ll get you through until sleepy time.
Nighty night.
