Clarence Ewing: The Million Year Trip writesTONIGHT: Democracy Burlesque @ Mary’s Attic

Marking comedy out of politics isn’t easy at a time when politicians are so intent on doing it all by themselves. It takes a special group of performers to shine a satirical light on the current landscape, and we know just where you can find them.

Democracy Burlesque (where “Only the Politics are Naked!”) will take the stage tonight at Mary’s Attic in Andersonville with Hypocrisy Now!, their live-action takedown of the poseurs, preeners and pretenders who are trying to pass themselves off as our leaders.

This is the first of three shows that will be performed over the next month, will all proceeds going to benefit CHIRP Radio!! Join us for a great night of comedy and truth!

Clarence Ewing: The Million Year Trip writesTHIS WEEKEND: Ravenswood ArtWalk

Ravenswood Avenue is one of the most unique thoroughfares in Chicago. Strategically tucked between the busier and noisier streets on the North Side, tree-lined Ravenswood is a parallel oasis of commercial and creative activity, an urban planner’s dream come true.

This weekend the numerous artists who work on the avenue will be on display at the 10th annual Ravenswood ArtWalk. Over 40 studios will be open to the public for free. There will also be live music, presentations, film screenings, local food, beer by Goose Island, and the RAW Street Fair. Enjoy the rooftop lounge and sculpture garden, as well as a trolley service that will provide architectural tours.

Autumn is in the air, and this is a perfect way to spend what’s going to be a wonderful weekend inside and out before Winter sets in once again. See you there!

Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 & 2 / Ravenswood Avenue, between Addison & Lawrence / 11:00am – 7:00pm (Sat.) – 6:00pm (Sun.) / All Ages
