Largely instrumental, the soundtrack features a new Wilco cut, an old number from the MERMAID AVE sessions with BILLY BRAGG, and a soaring version of JOHN LENNON's "JEALOUS GUY" by the incredible JIMMY SCOTT. This is a gorgeous soundtrack, and a must have for any fan of WILCO, JIM O'ROURKE, or HEY THAT'S MY BIKE. RECOMMENDED!

After a few albums of acoustic sketches, solo projects and sonic detours into full-on country music, Tweedy & Co. lock into a solid art pop groove on 'Cousin,' festooned with synths, drum machines (that only compliment Glenn Kotche's brilliance behind the kit) and jagged bursts of noise that harken back to the band's underrated 'The Whole Love' era. There's almost a krautrock feel here, even on the more subdued tracks, with Tweedy & producer CATE LE BON making masterful use of repetition to build & release tension in a way that ensures these songs will slot in to the band's legendary live sets like a charm. Do we even have to say it? This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This is a top-tier Wilco album! Virtuoso Nels Cline is at the helm of the shredding department (though perfectly tasteful) and contributes to some of the greatest 3-guitars-in-1-band moments since the Eagles. But better than the Eagles.

A twangy effort that really showcases the band's ability to write catchy (but unconventional) pop tunes, "Sky Blue Sky" is vintage WILCO. TWEEDY and Co. keep the instrumentation simple with your standard drums, guitar, & bass, throwing in some organ, lap steel, & piano here and there. You know this is RECOMMENDED!!!

2009's album from WILCO is another stunner, perfectly melding Jeff Tweedy's everyman singer-songwriter tropes to the band's sophisticated arrangements that lean more towards 70s AOR, all shot through with flashes of the avant-garde and noise-rock. An excellent album from the always-excellent WILCO: definitely one you'll be hearing years from now. "You and I" is one of the sweetest songs from Tweedy in a long time. Highly recommended!
