Fourth single from JACK WHITE's "Blunderbuss" LP is backed with the non-album cut "Blues to Two Trees!"

2010 record from noted son of Nashville legend Bobby Bare, this apple has decided to fall a little farther from the tree on this one. Tinges of country play around the edges of this otherwise splendid collection of indie rock tunes (with a little production help from comrade DAVID VANDERVELDE).

We've been following this band since we stocked their split 12" with URFAUST a few years back & this 2009 album on Hospital is by far their most accomplished album to date. There's still that 'recorded in the practice space' vibe but the recordings are definitely fuller this time around perhaps because of what seems like a lot more guitar overdubbing, extra instruments like keyboards & more prominent drumming. This is the most melodic batch of songs too with some stuff bordering on an indie rock sound. The band has always reminded us of 90's Twisted Village stuff & "Tree of Knowledge" would fit right in next to LUXURIOUS BAGS & CRYSTALIZED MOVEMENTS. If you've been on the fence about these guys, this is the album to pick up.

This is the debut album by the L.A. based musician Lexi Vega aka MINI TREES. Mellow indie pop with some electronic elements that sort of sounds somewhere in the middle of Phoebe Bridgers & DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE.

Just the 2nd solo release of rock oriented material from Sonic Youth mainman Thurston Moore. While 1995s Psychic Hearts felt like a stripped down SY record, this one provides a mellower mood with acoustic guitars, violin from Samara Lubelski & lovley backing vocals by Charlambides Christina Carter. Theres even a few bars of wailing J mascis. Recomended!

2019 album from the Staten Island singer/songwriter Paul Schalda. Similar to artists like Kevin Morby & AMEN DUNES, PAUL & THE TALL TREES sounds simultaneously vintage & modern at the same time. Fans of that sort of stuff, lyric driven folky rock in general will dig this.
