Most of our favorite 90s shoegaze bands have reformed over the past few years & made pretty darn good new albums. MY BLOODY VALENTINE, RIDE & SLOWDIVE have all toured & recorded excellent new material & SWERVEDRIVER are now on their 2nd post-reforming record & they've managed to keep the streak of good reunion records alive. Yes, this sounds like a SWERVEDRIVER but isn't that what you'd want? Great alternate tuning guitar riffs, nods at psychedelia & excellent songs. We also hear bits of TEENAGE FANCLUB, RAIN PARADE, BAILTER SPACE & DINOSAUR JR. RECOMMENDED!

WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?! A brand NEW record by one of our favorite bands here at Reckless, the mighty un-mess-with-able SWERVEDRIVER! It's been 17 long years since their last offering, "99th Dream," but the band hasn't missed a single beat. Similar to Dinosaur JR's killer LP "Beyond," or My Bloody Valentine's recent self titled LP, the band has taken the core elements of what made their original sound so appealing, and refined them to a T. "I Wasn't Born To Lose You" sounds just as good blaring from your car speakers as "Raise" or "Mezcal Head" did almost 25 years ago. This is the sound of adults who have been making ROCK music for years polishing up their sound and coming back with their best work yet. These guys got lumped into the 90's shoegaze scene because of their Creation labelmates, Ride, Slowdive, and MBV, but none of those bands ROCKED as hard. If you're a fan of any previous output, this is a no brainer, but it's also an excellent starting point for folks looking to check them out. This is sure to be on several employee's year end list and is of course, highly recommended!
