The anticipated debut from London's SAVAGES may well be the pinnacle of the post-punk/goth resurrection that's been enjoying some props the past few years. This all-female band won't be able to help the SIOUXSIE comparisons in mood & vocal-style, but SAVAGES has a certain chutzpah - oomph, if you will - that sets them apart from the pack. First & foremost the songs are incredibly catchy, which is the first rule of rock music, but SAVAGES aren't too scared to let feedback rear its beautiful, ugly head or let a song devolve into noise with a bass drum its only accompaniment. This is custom-built for sweaty venues & every DJ at Chicago's club Neo better buy like eight copies. RECOMMENDED!
