It's not that I forgot, it's just that it's taken me two whole weeks to recover from the excitement that was the CHIRP Record Fair & Other Delights. I left the fair the evening of April 13 with a somewhat lighter wallet and a significantly heavier tote bag, and have since been wearing out the needle on my turntable enjoying my purchases (especially a very reasonably priced new Ys by Joanna Newsom and a dusty but lovely-sounding For the Roses by Joni Mitchell, confirming for everyone that I've spent way too much time going to renaissance fairs).
If you missed it, here's your chance to see how this year's record fair played out; and if you made it, enjoy the reminiscing!

Audiotree presented Audiences, Kellen and Me, and the Soil & the Sun, to a sold-out show at the Hideout on Saturday, March 30th, 2013. To preface this article, Audiotree is a Chicago-based hodge-podge of band management, concert promoters and most notably, their live video/audio in-studio sessions with supreme, unaltered audio quality. All three of these bands have recorded sessions with Audiotree and can be found at Audiotree.tv.
This is the last South by Southwest post, I promise. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share with you some awesome photos I took @ Side Bar in Austin, Texas during CHIRP's sponsored showcase at SXSW. There were two stages during this day showcase featuring Austin bands on the outside stage and DC bands on the inside stage. Through out the day I ran back and forth between the outdoor stage and the indoor stage so I could capture all the action! Here is what I have for you...
Letting Up Despite Great Faults
CHIRP photographer and volunteer Patrick Bobilin was in the crowd at the Empty Bottle last Tuesday, March 19 to catch a show from 24-year-old Dutch singer-songwriter Jacco Gardner, whose 60s-style psych pop was preceded by the drone-folk of New Hampshire rockers MMOSS and the shoegaze sounds of Toronto band Beliefs. Check out his photos below.

I don't mean to spam you with more SXSW coverage but I want to share with you images of Chicago bands that I was able to capture at this year's South by Southwest! This is by no means a comphensive re-cap of any sorts. This is only a small representation of Chicago bands that were at SXSW. If you've ever been to the festival than you'll realize that it is impossible to see every band and it's hard to get a camera into every show. The following is for your viewing pleasure....
